Architecture and Design

History reveals itself in the details.

A worn threshold, a rediscovered fresco, the weave of a piece of furniture. At Cool Dreams, the palazzo invites a closer look: at its materials, its light and the things that make it a pleasure to pause.

  • Detail of a restored painted decoration with scrolling motifs and traces of historic surfaces.A cylindrical element made of several segments runs diagonally through illuminated stone masonry.

    The traces remain.

Walls, vaults and decorated surfaces preserve the palazzo’s different ages and transformations. The restoration reopened passageways and rediscovered connections between rooms. The stone you see is part of the building itself: follow its variations, notice where materials meet, linger over a recovered painting.

  • A detail of the wooden slats shaping the organic profile of the reception desk.Detail of two metal handles on doors made of dark wood and woven cane.Detail of a seat with an ochre cushion and cane backrest beside a plant and stone masonry.Detail of braided cords on an outdoor seat, with a botanical-patterned cushion and the courtyard seating area in the background.Textured ceramic vessels on an elm parquet floor laid in a herringbone pattern.

    A pleasure you can touch.

Wood, cane, fabric to settle into. Furniture designed for these spaces meets pieces from design history and contemporary objects. A table for coffee, a seat for reading, the desk that welcomes you: each finds its place within the palazzo’s forms.

  • The thin curved slats of two illuminated pendant lights, one in focus and the other softly blurred in the foreground.A yellow lamp, an open book and a bowl of green fruit on a dark console against a stone wall.A portable glass lamp on a black stand beside a pale side table, flowers and stone pillars in the courtyard.Foliage shadows fall across a plastered wall beside exposed stone and a potted plant.

There is room for shadow, too.

By day, leaves draw shadows on the walls and light changes the face of the stone. In the evening, a pendant light follows the staircase, a lamp gathers the seating into a pool of light, a reflection invites another look. The atmosphere changes, bringing new ways to enjoy your time here.
